Tamakoshi Hospital (previously named as Tamakoshi Co-operative Hospital) was formally registered in 5th June 2007 (B.S. 22 Jestha, 2064) at District Administration Office of Ramechhap as social health organization. The hospital has been also affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC), formed by government to look after the activities of NGOs & INGOs sector in Nepal. In the beginning, the hospital has obtained the approval to run a 15-bed standard hospital in Manthali, Ramechhap from Central Development Regional Directorate, Ministry of Health & Population. Later, the hospital has been upgraded into 25-bed hospital since April 2017.
Tamakoshi Sewa Samiti (TSS), a local NGO established in 1984 in Ramechhap and Manthali Saving & Credit Co-operative Society Ltd., a financial institution established in 1998, were the promoters of Tamakoshi Hospital. Since then, these 3 organizations are closely interrelated in hospital operation and various activities.
